For the fourth year, tournament players will receive friendly and capable help from juniors and seniors in the Cypress Ranch High School National Honor Society. They're there early helping with check-in and distributing tournament T-shirts; they're there all day monitoring court assignments and score reporting; and they're there late assisting with trophy presentations and event wrap-up. This unsung group of talented teens has been making tournament play run smoothly for three years, and we were eager to welcome them back in 2018.

The National Honor Society is an academic organization that honors students who exhibit scholarship, leadership, and character. It promotes service through volunteering and mentoring both on campus and in community projects.

Invitation into the National Honor Society is selective. Among other requirements, students must maintain a 5.8 cumulative GPA or higher, have at least one teacher letter of recommendation and five teacher character references, hold a minimum of two leadership positions, and be active in at least three school clubs or organizations.

These exceptional young people will be all over the grounds on Saturday, wearing tournament shirts but not carrying racquet bags. Give them a "thank you" for volunteering.
